Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the reading literacy competencies of madrasah teachers through training based on the Indonesian Madrasah Competency Assessment (AKMI) using the LOK-R approach (Literacy, Orientation, Collaboration, and Reflection). The activity was conducted online at MIN 11 Hulu Sungai Selatan using Zoom, Google Meet, and a WhatsApp group. The implementation method was participatory, consisting of four sessions: reinforcing reading literacy concepts, introducing AKMI, collaborative discussions, and learning reflection. Evaluations using pre-tests and post-tests showed a significant improvement in participants’ competencies. The percentage of participants in the basic category decreased from 65% to 15%, while those in the competent and skilled categories increased to 65% and 20%, respectively. Additionally, 85% of participants felt more confident in developing literacy-based teaching materials. This training was effective and is recommended for the continuous professional development of madrasah teachers.
